R&B voice that is well-known for her version of Prince's I Feel for You. I feel for You by Rufus. is a massive smash. The singer is also the frontwoman for Rufus. Khan was raised as the daughter of a Catholic. She went to her parish of Hyde Park Saint Thomas the Apostle Church for her elementary school. Her mother is the reason she was getting her into jazz while she was young. Khan began listening to jazz and blues while at the age of preteens. When she turned 11, Khan joined a band with Taka who is one of Khan's sisters. She left in 1969 the Panthers and dropped out of high school after having gone to Calumet High School and Kenwood High School (now Kenwood Academy). She started to sing in smaller groups across the Chicagoland area. The first group was the Cash McCall's Lyfe group included Hassan Khan. Chaka Khan and Hassan were married in 1970.
