Taylor
Taylor Swift has become a unique pop star: a star who strayed completely from country music to pop culture, becoming a pop icon that will last forever and conquering all of the world. Swift shed country like it was another layer of herself, proving that she is perhaps the most intelligent pop singer/songwriter of her time. One who can harness the current zeitgeist and make it personal, and sing in the other direction. This was evident in her early songs, particularly in her neo homage to Tim McGraw. On her album Fearless (2008), Swift revealed a singer/songwriter who was beginning to get acquainted with herself. Fearless was a big hit not only in the United States with it's Top Ten singles Love Story and Belong with Me helped it to achieve six platinum records as well as around the globe. The album was particularly successful throughout Canada Australia in Australia and Canada. U.K. Speak Now delivered almost two years later, which consolidated the popularity and pushed Swift into the stratosphere of fame. She grew in popularity over the course of the three albums that followed - Red (2012) 1989 (2014) and Reputation (2017). Swift had now established herself in the genre she was a part of. She stayed on top of the charts even after she changed her style with her sibling albums Folklore and Evermore in 2020.
