Lisa Edelstein was an American actress, best known as the star of Fox's House medical drama. Born in Wayne with a strict Jewish tradition, she moved into New York City at the age of 18 and began studying theater at Tisch school of arts. But very soon she began to be involved in the city's club scene, and was able to make enough headlines that she was noticed by the press, concurrently, becoming aware of the devastating effect of AIDS. She then used her background and fame along with her personal education to write and perform a show called Positive Me. The first time she was hired, she got her first position on MTV as the host of Awake on the Wild Side shortly after. When it ended up going off the show, she started appearing in films and television production, initially in short roles but then gradually becoming an actress.
