Her most well-known role is her performance as Willie Scott, an American nightclub performer and singer in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984), directed by her husband Steven Spielberg. She has been in Dreamscape (1984), Power(1986), SpaceCamp(1986), Black Rain (1989), Love Affair (94), Just Cause (1995) and The Love Letter (1999). The work of her portraits has been displayed at the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery Capshaw was born Kathleen Sue Nail in Fort Worth, Texas, the daughter of Beverley Sue (nee Simon), a beauty therapist and travel agent, as well as Edwin Leon Nail, an airline employee. At the age of five, she was years old when she relocated to St. Louis, Missouri. She graduated from Hazelwood Senior High School. Capshaw earned a degree from the University of Missouri in education. She was also a part of Alpha Delta Pi. She was a Special Education teacher at Southern Boone High School Ashland, Missouri and Rock Bridge High School Columbia, Missouri.
